Grazing Angle Measurement Head

The Grazing Angle measurement head is interchangeable with the 20°/60° standard head. The incidence angle of the illuminating beam is 83°. The SOC 410 with the Grazing Angle measurement head for the first time offers the ability to inspect coatings at this high angle. This challenging measurement can be now performed not only in the laboratory but also in the field on real objects.

Remote Control Unit (RCU)

The RCU is an adaptor module attached to the SOC 410 Measurement Head to permit remote control from an external PC. It is interchangeable with the Command Module. An external power supply provides 12 volt power to the RCU. Communication between the PC and the RCU is provided over a RS232 serial link. Software running on a PC uses the same GUI as the one running on the PDA of the Command Module.
